My good dears!
2005-07-19 - 22:47 EST Having obtained the necessary information on what happened in the latest installment of Harry Potter (for which I am mostly in debt to her and her), I am now torturing, tempting, and teasing slower readers with the knowledge (I am sure my benefactors did not intend for the information to be used in this manner and hereby absolve them of any guilty involvement as accessories). Very few cave, but I'm really just in it for the agony I create in my victims' minds. Speaking of using solicitor-like phrasing, I am currently reading Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White, which is proving itself a delight. Walter Hartright is an agreeable narrator (although unfortunately endowed with an obvious name), and I always enjoy Collins's humorous little jabs at self-righteous Anglican Christians. I'm almost done, and it's been a good read, if a little on the predictable side. Still, expectations will be expectations. Um, if you know anything about Collins's private life, please be so kind as to ignore that reference. c.i.,p.i.q.e.
