Reading Sara Douglass's Pilgrim has actually been somewhat excruciating, since some its aspects painfully echo issues in my own life.
I find now that I prefer her other series to The Wayfarer Redemption, but I'm still enjoying it. I've maybe fifteen pages left to read, and then I'll be left wanting. One more book in this series. One more!
In other news, I've stopped writing. I need to start again. Chronicle is dead, and my muse leaps too far ahead for her to be of any use to me. Short stories, I think? I have some ideas. I'm heavily inspired by Irish short story writers, so we'll see how that works out. Maybe it'll be brilliant; maybe it'll be horrible; whichever, it'll be something, at least.
